Our Story
Great taste is timeless
Back in the 1700s J G Thomson & Co. were known as merchants and purveyors of the unusual and exciting, curating and introducing tastes never experienced on our shores. They made their home in Leith and today the Scotch Malt Whisky Society is housed there. Their name was synonymous with quality, and some may say daring.

Superior quality, blending and curating is in the J G Thomson & Co. DNA, and that continues today with the latest incarnation of the brand, launched in 2021. The launch of a 21st century small batch release of premium whisky, gin and rum, celebrates the original brand ethos and much more.
